5 Minute Morning Skincare Routine!

If you’re anything like me, your mornings consist of snoozing your alarms multiple times and rushing out the door - leaving you with little to no time for skincare. I’ve always been a huge fan of nighttime skincare routines, as I love to unwind and treat myself after a long day. But, I can’t say the same when it comes to mornings. Being home these past few months during quarantine, was the perfect time for me to create a simple, easy morning routine that I hope to continue post-quarantine.
I’ll walk you through a typical morning of mine:
1. Drink a glass of water
I never was one to drink lots of water throughout the day, until I learned how beneficial it was for our skin. To help me keep track of my intake of water, I actually use the mobile app: Water Reminder. It’s an easy to use customizable app that sends me hourly reminders throughout the day. Since committing to this step, I’ve seen a huge difference in my skin.

2. Start by cleansing
Cleansing might just be my favourite part of my routine. I love starting my day by removing any leftover makeup, dirt and/or oil off my face. I recently picked up Daydreamer by Blume. I love how gentle and hydrating this cleanser is.
3. Spray toner
Since I want to limit the time spent, I’ve opted for the Dr.Jart Cicapair Tiger Grass Calming Mist that I picked up from Sephora Canada. I’m a big lover of Dr.Jart and this calming mist is a great alternative for a toner, as it can be used after cleansing your face. I will typically spray 3-4 pumps on my face. It is refreshing and dries up fast allowing me to get to my next step quickly.
4. Dab serum
Serums are great, as they typically target specific skin issues like redness for example. My current go-to has been the First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Hydrating Serum. I apply 1-2 pumps on my face and wait until it is absorbed before moving on to my next step. This serum is vegan and cruelty-free and leaves my skin feeling nice and soft.
5. Apply eye cream
Even though I’m young, I always felt the need to protect my eyes from a young age. I haven’t found a holy grail eye cream yet, but I’ve been using the Multi Function Formula Snail Repair Eye Cream by Mizon. This cream is made with 80% snail mucin and contains E.G.F (endothelial growth factor) which aids with hydrating sensitive skin around the eyes. I apply a small amount and pat lightly, until it gets absorbed.
6. Finish with SPF/Moisturizer
Last but not least, is the application of SPF and moisturizer. I’ve been using the Josie Maran Argan Daily Moisturizer SPF 47 and I’ve been obsessing over it. It is light, hydrating and non-greasy, which leaves my skin feeling moisturized and protected.
And there you have it! In just 5 minutes, your skin will feel hydrated, refreshed, protected and glowy!
